How will the future change in the future?

In the future, cars will be forced to march to the dictation of global warming, and the supplies left on Earth. With climate changing getting to be more of a serious problem than ever, cars will become smarter in order adapt to the environment, and to adapt to running on different fuels. Though it is sad, we do not have an unlimited supply of crude oil, nor can we spend it extravagantly. We need be more conscious of our dwindling supply and learn to rely on other sources of fuel, such as hybrid powered cars, or compressed air.
In terms of safety and security, it is the accidents on the road that we need to prevent, there is no solution to stop drink driving, there’s no solution to stop speeding. GSP in cars, to locate missing cars, ESP to stabilise cars, signal beams to signal the distance between cars and auto pilot buttons. These advances serve only for convenience, and to give drivers an easier time on the road.
Absurd notions of flying cars can be forgotten, we are doing more damage than good by having flying cars.
Due to the weather, darker colour cars will be extinct. Due petrol prices, cars will shrink, because the car that holds five, seats only one. Say goodbye to retractable roofs, to sport cars. The car of the future is not made to please the demographic but to adapt to the future changes in the environment.

Response to sub question: How will automobiles change in the future?

Global warming is fast approaching, and as a result we will have to shape our cars around it.

As for powering a car in the future we will have to look at low emission fuels, such as Hybrid, Hydrogen and compressed air. These are not answers, but they are part of the solution. Experts are tipping crude oil will reach what’s known as peak oil. This is when demand will out number supply.

Technology is rapidly improving and as a result safety and security is developing at a rapid rate. As we become less dependent of the car there is no real need for better security. However if security was to change the difference wouldn’t be huge. In terms of safety we will continue to improve. Things such as the electronic stability program which helps keep you on the road when oversteering, will become standard in all cars.

In terms of design we will see sun reflecting colour such as silver and white. Fuel efficiency will change the size of the cars and their engines.

Compared to the present day cars future cars will be similar, they will discharge lower emissions, they will be safer and smarter.

Driver Safety/Design

Researching on the internet isn't the easiest thing in the world. Since there is so much information and so little time it's hard to find what you want. But I finally found it. I found some info on a great site, it had stuff about the future design and safety of cars. I found that Volvo are currently designing a program that is close to the autopilot system that cars have. I also found about another program that Mercedez-Benz have developed called ESP (Electronic Stability Program) which helps the driver keep full control of the car. It reduces the car from under steering and over steering. What I'm finding out about cars is quiet interesting.

How to Break into A Car

Point of the day: for there to be futuristic solutions, there must be futuristic problems. To upgrade the security of the car, we had to determine a way to break into the car, as quietly and quickly as possible. Sufficent to say, after senario adter senario, we can successful break into and as a result find a way to protect the car in the process. By the time we found the problems and solutions, more problems emerged from the solutions. How to protect the car, if the car alarm has run after batteries? No one can find a system to correct human error.

Difference of Opinion

I have started to investigate my basic question by using a video source from the abc. Ths show goes in detail about what alternate fuel sources we are developing and have already developed. I have learnt that the oil will not run out like everybody is saying, but it will be harder to get to and as a result prices will go up.

BLOG Toolbox session

First day back, and we had a toolbox session on how to improve and enrich our blog's. Ms Govender talked us through some purposes of our blogs. Like one of them was that it was an effective way for us to communicate with our team and teachers. I think it was helpful. We also got off to a great start on our topic of automobiles of the future.
